Acting Chief Ethics Counsel
Katherine Easmunt serves as the Acting Chief Ethics Counsel. In this role, she oversees the Office of Ethics Counsel, which certifies the agency’s compliance with relevant federal ethics laws and regulations, promotes accountability and ethical conduct, and helps ensure the success of the NCUA’s ethics programs, including programs designed to prevent harassment and misconduct in the workplace.
Ms. Easmunt joined the NCUA in 2019 as the Alternate Designated Agency Ethics Official. She previously served as the Pension Benefit Guaranty Corporation’s Alternate Designated Agency Ethics Official, Assistant General Counsel for General Law and Ethics, and as the agency’s Anti-Harassment Coordinator. In these roles she supervised PBGC’s ethics and anti-harassment programs. From 2006 to 2015, Ms. Easmunt served as an attorney with the U.S. Department of Labor with a focus on ethics and fiscal law.
Ms. Easmunt attained her Juris Doctor from the George Mason University School of Law and her undergraduate degree in finance from the University of South Florida.
