Acting President, Asset Management and Assistance Center
Jennifer Murphy is the Acting President of the Asset Management and Assistance Center (AMAC). In this role, Ms. Murphy serves as the key advisor to the NCUA Board on credit union liquidations, including issuing share insurance payouts, managing acquired assets, and recovering losses from the National Credit Union Share Insurance Fund. She leads AMAC’s other responsibilities, such as technical assistance and consulting related to conservatorships, real estate and consumer loans, appraisals, bond claim analysis, and reconstructing accounting records.
Ms. Murphy has served as Deputy President of AMAC since September 2023. Throughout her career with NCUA, she has served in a variety of capacities. She joined NCUA in 1992 as a field examiner in San Antonio, TX and later became a Problem Case Officer before joining AMAC. Ms. Murphy developed deep expertise in the agency’s conservatorship and liquidation responsibilities. This expertise led Ms. Murphy to a series of management positions within AMAC, including Director of Accounting Services, Director of Liquidation and Member Services, and Deputy President. In leadership, Ms. Murphy initiated several modernization efforts, implementing improvements to liquidation systems, and processes, and refining the information NCUA provides to stakeholders of liquidated credit unions.
Ms. Murphy holds a bachelor’s degree in accounting from Southwest Texas State University.
