
Acting Inspector General
Marta Erceg serves as the Acting Inspector General, Counsel to the Inspector General, and Assistant Inspector General for Investigations for the NCUA Office of Inspector General (OIG). In this role, she oversees the OIG, which conducts independent audits, investigations, and other reviews of the NCUA’s operations and programs.
Ms. Erceg joined the NCUA's OIG in 2018 as the Counsel to the Inspector General and Assistant Inspector General for Investigations. She previously served as Counsel to the Inspector General at the U.S. Department of Education OIG and before that, Director of Legal Services at the U.S. Postal Service OIG. While at the Department of Education OIG, she was chair of the Council of Counsels to the Inspectors General, a group of attorneys from all OIGs in the federal government. Prior to joining the Inspector General community, Ms. Erceg worked as an attorney in the Postal Service’s Office of General Counsel and at the law firm of Arent Fox (now ArentFox Schiff) in Washington, D.C. She served as a law clerk for New Jersey Supreme Court Justice Marie Garibaldi after graduating from law school.
Ms. Erceg earned a Juris Doctor from Emory University Law School and a Bachelor of Science in Foreign Service from Georgetown University.
