Navy Federal Credit Union's Field of Membership as of 3/14/2024

CONVERTED FROM MULTIPLE TO SINGLE COMMON BOND - AUGUST 29, 2003

Section 5 of the Charter of the Navy Federal Credit Union is hereby amended to read as follows:

"The field of membership shall be limited to those having the following common bond:

1. Military and civilian personnel regularly employed by the Department of the Navy Department of Defense who are assigned to, stationed at, or work at any United States Government installation, facility, or unit, afloat or ashore; 05/15/08

2. Military and civilian personnel regularly employed by the United States Government employees who are assigned to or work at a Department of the Navy Department of Defense installation, facility, or unit, afloat or ashore, and who have a mission compatibility and have a strong dependency relationship with their Department of the Navy Department of Defense hosts; 05/15/08

3. Midshipmen and cadets at the United States Naval Academy; United States Military Academy, United States Air Force Academy, Army, Navy, Air Force and Marine Corps military personnel regularly enrolled in officer candidate programs including: Navy and Marine Corps Officer Candidates (OCUI), Army, Air Force or Naval Reserve Officer Training Corps (ROTC) students; United States Merchant Marine Academy NROTC students; Navy Aviation Officer (AOC) and Naval Flight Officer (NFO) Candidates; Marine Corps Officer Candidate Course and Platoon Leaders Class Program students; Air Force Basic Officer Training (BOT) and Commissioned Officer Training (COT) Candidates; and Army Officer Candidates (OCS); 05/15/08

4. Members of the Army, Navy, Air Force, and Marine Corps Reserve; 05/15/08

5. Members of the Army National Guard and Air National Guard; 05/15/08

6. Military and civilian personnel regularly employed by the Department of Defense or United States Coast Guard who are assigned to, stationed at or work at Department of the Navy or United States Coast Guard activities, afloat or ashore, in New London County, Connecticut, except the Naval Underwater Systems Center (removed exclusion 8/29/03); (Emergency Merger with Community Service Credit Union, Inc. – Completed 9/21/91)

7. Employees of organizations regularly providing services to and working under a contractual agreement, and having a strong dependency relationship, with the Department of the Navy Department of Defense, who are assigned to or regularly work at a United States Government installation, facility, or unit, afloat or ashore; 05/15/08

8. Military and civilian personnel regularly employed by the United States Coast Guard who are assigned to, stationed at, or work at a Coast Guard installation, facility, or unit, afloat or ashore, which is under the operational control of and logistically supported by the (Department of the Navy) Department of Defense; 05/15/08 Hsekpg – Clause Updated 02/15/13

9. Members of record as of effective date of the single occupational common bond conversion;

10. The following has been added effective May 30, 2006, as a result of the merger of Gulfport CBC Credit Union: 07/11/06

Persons of United States Nationality in the employment of or serving with United States Government agencies employed by the United States of America in Japan (except persons ordinarily residing in Japan);

Military personnel who work at or are assigned to the U.S. Naval Recruiting Station, Headquarters, Los Angeles Recruiting District in Los Angeles, California;

Military and civilian personnel and students under contract in the Naval Reserve Officer Training Corps (NROTC) in colleges and universities which conduct training cruises in the 11th Naval District;

Civil service employees of the Department of the Army, Southern California Outport, who work in Long Beach, California;

Personnel of any tenant or subordinate activity of the above stations;

Contractors and employees of contractors who work in San Diego under ship repair and maintenance contracts with the U.S. Government administered by the Supervisor of Shipbuilding and Repair, 11th Naval District, U.S. Naval Station in San Diego, California;

Employees of appropriated and non-appropriated fund activities who work at or are assigned to, or are attached to the Long Beach Naval Station in Long Beach, California;

Employees of the Naval Commissary and Navy Exchange in the Murphy Canyon area of San Diego and Civilian and military personnel of the U.S. Government who work in the above facilities in San Diego, California;

Employees of Share Computing, Inc. who work in this credit union's computer center in San Diego, California;

Contract employees of the Special Service Department, U.S. Naval Station, who work in Long Beach or Los Alamitos, California;

Members of the Inactive Navy and Marine Corps Reserve assigned to a Reserve unit in a drilling status (pay and non-pay) in the States of Arizona, Arkansas, New Mexico, Oklahoma, Texas, or Utah, or the 11th Naval District in California, except members of the Marine Corps Reserve in the State of Texas, who are eligible for membership in another occupational-type credit union;

Other civilian and military personnel regularly employed by the Department of the Navy who work in the States of Arizona, Arkansas, New Mexico, Oklahoma, Texas, or Utah, or in the 11th Naval District in California, except Marine Corps personnel in the State of Texas, who are eligible for membership in another occupational-type credit union;

Members of the U.S. Armed Forces, active or retired, or their dependents or dependent survivors who are eligible by law or regulations to receive and are receiving benefits or service from the above military installations or who use the facilities provided by military installations of the U.S. Government in Korea or Japan;

Members of this credit union who are stationed overseas;

Foreign military personnel assigned to permanent duty at the installations or with the activities served by this credit union in the United States;

Employees of the United States Congress who work in San Diego County, California;

Personnel separated from the U.S. Armed Forces who are receiving Veterans Disability Compensation (or who have applied for Veterans Disability Compensation) and are regularly using hospital services at the above installations;

Air Force Reserves who are members of the 445th Military Airlift Wing (associate) (AFRES) assigned to Norton Air Force Base, California;

Members of the 3rd Battalion 185th Armor, California Army National Guard in San Diego, California;

CERTIFICATION OF RESOLUTION OF BOARD OF DIRECTORS ADOPTING AMENDMENT OF CHARTER

WHEREAS, the attached amendment of the credit union's charter is in the best interests of the members and is consistent with Law, and all necessary authorizations having been obtained,

NOW, THEREFORE, pursuant to the provisions of the Federal Credit Union Act, the attached amendment of the charter of the Navy Federal Credit Union No. 05536 is hereby adopted by the board of directors in accordance with Article XVII, Section 1 of the revised Federal Credit Union Bylaws effective November 30, 2007.
