The NCUA Board is requesting comments on the eleventh round of proposed regulatory changes under the NCUA Deregulation Project. The comment period ends on July 6, 2026, at 11:59 p.m. Eastern.
These proposals would clarify agency guidance or remove unnecessary, redundant, overly prescriptive, obsolete, or unduly burdensome requirements in the Code of Federal Regulations.
- 12 CFR Part 701, 713, and 741 Requirements for Insurance — The NCUA Board is proposing to amend its regulations governing requirements for share insurance. This proposed rule would eliminate numerous provisions that merely point to substantive provisions codified elsewhere in the NCUA's regulations.
- 12 CFR Part 711, Thresholds Increase for the Major Assets Prohibition of the Depository Institution Management Interlocks Act — The NCUA Board is requesting comments on a proposal to increase the major assets prohibition thresholds to $10 billion for management interlocks required under the Depository Institution Management Interlocks Act. The Board also proposes to remove 12 CFR 711.6(b)(2), which outlines instances in which NCUA would presume that an interlock would not result in a monopoly or substantial lessening of competition for institutions.
