Acting Deputy Executive Director
Towanda Brooks is the NCUA’s Acting Deputy Executive Director. In this position, she is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day administrative operations of the agency and other special programs within NCUA.
Before being appointed as Acting Deputy Executive Director, Ms. Brooks was NCUA’s Chief Human Capital Officer.
Prior to coming to the NCUA, Ms. Brooks served as Chief Human Capital Officer for the Department of Housing and Urban Development. Her career includes service in human resources at the Department of Commerce, the Department of Energy’s National Nuclear Security Administration, the Department of Homeland Security, the U.S. Secret Service, the Department of Agriculture, the Library of Congress, and the Department of Defense.
Ms. Brooks holds a bachelor’s degree from George Mason University and a master’s degree from The American University. She also received a professional certificate in executive leadership from Georgetown University and an Associate Certified Coach (ACC) certification from Brown University, School of Professional Studies and ACT as well as from the OPM’s federal coaching program.
