Member Deposits Remain Protected up to $250,000; Member Services Uninterrupted
Alexandria, VA (September 1, 2026) – WeDevelopment Federal Credit Union of Kansas City, Missouri, merged into CommunityAmerica Federal Credit Union of Lenexa, Kansas, effective today.
Members transferring to CommunityAmerica Federal Credit Union will experience no interruption in services. All accounts remain insured by the National Credit Union Share Insurance Fund (Share Insurance Fund). Administered by NCUA, the Share Insurance Fund insures individual accounts up to $250,000, and a member’s interest in all joint accounts combined is insured up to $250,000. IRA and KEOGH retirement accounts are separately insured up to $250,000. The Share Insurance Fund is backed by the full faith and credit of the United States.

On July 10, 2026, NCUA placed WeDevelopment Federal Credit Union into conservatorship and appointed itself as the conservator. The agency worked to address issues affecting the credit union’s safety and soundness. After analysis and stakeholder engagement, NCUA determined that merging WeDevelopment Federal Credit Union into CommunityAmerica Federal Credit Union was in the best interest of its members.

Chartered in 2022, WeDevelopment Federal Credit Union served underserved communities within 57 census tracts in Jackson County, Missouri.
