Withdrawal of IRPS

The NCUA Board has withdrawn 18 Interpretive Rulings and Policy Statements (IRPS) that are either outdated, since they no longer provide relevant or useful guidance, or unnecessary, since the guidance provided has been incorporated into an NCUA regulation or manual. In addition, 10 IRPS were withdrawn because they have been superseded by other IRPS or NCUA regulations and the NCUA Board wants to further advise the public that these IRPS are no longer viable.

Attached is a copy of the withdrawal of outdated and unnecessary IRPS, published in the Federal Register on Thursday, September 25, 1997, 62 Fed. Reg. 50245. This withdrawal provides a brief subject matter summary of each IRPS that was withdrawn and a brief statement explaining why the IRPS was withdrawn. For a quick reference, a chart of the withdrawn IRPS is shown below.
